Lesson 5- Faith
Faith
Faith is being fully persuaded that, what he had promised,
he was also able to perform. Romans 4:21 Faith is a substance, so
what you’ve hoped for has now become real.
If we believe, we act differently. Hebrews11:1
The Three Facets of Faith
Of Salvation- By grace then faith.
In His Promises- All the promises of God in him.
2 Corinthians 1:20
For Others- Believe, All thy houses shall be
saved. Acts 16:31
Three Purposes of Faith
1. Tap
into God’s Righteousness.
2. Tap
into His promises.
3. Carry
out the will of God, be a blessing.
Faith Speaks
You are living what you believe, and what you speak. Angels move when they hear Faith and faith
moves God. Faith is like a fruit of the
Spirit. It’s also like a muscle which
means it can grow.
By
faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which He
obtained witness that he was righteous. God
testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaks. Hebrews
11:4
As
it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations, before him whom he
believed, God, who quickens the dead, and calls those things which be not as
though they were. Romans 4:17
Wherefore,
Holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High
Priest of our profession Christ Jesus. Hebrews 3:1
We all have been given a measure:
For
I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to
think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according
as God hath dealt to every man the measure of Faith. Romans
12:3
Faith
comes by hearing and hearing the word of God.
Romans 10:17
And
by building up yourself on your most holy Faith. Jude
1:20
5 signs you are full of faith
1. Joy
1 Peter 1:8
2. Praise
Romans 4:18-20
3. Peace
Romans 5:1
4. A
Good Confession 2 Corinthians 4:13
5. No
fear, worry or torment
Now
faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not
seen. Hebrews 11:1
But
without faith it is impossible to please him; for he that cometh to God must
believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Hebrews 11:6
So
then faith comes by hearing, and by hearing the word of God. Romans 10:17
For
we walk by faith, not by sight. 2 Corinthians
5:7
Through
faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that
things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. Hebrews
11:3
Even
so faith, if it has no works, is dead alone.
James 2:17
But
let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For
he that wavers is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive
anything of the Lord. A double-minded
man is unstable in all his ways. James 1:6-8
Saving Faith
For
by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves; it is the gift
of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. Ephesians
2:8-9
Even
the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon
all them that believe. Romans 3:22
For
what does the scripture say? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him
for righteousness. Romans 4:3
Healing Faith
And a
certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, and had suffered many
things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing
bettered, but rather grew worse. When she
heard of Jesus, she came in the press behind, and touched his garment. For she said, If I may but touch his clothes,
I shall be whole. And he said unto her “Daughter, your faith has
made you whole; go in peace and be whole of your plague.” Mark 5:25-34
Then
they came to Jericho. As Jesus and his disciples, together with a large crowd,
were leaving the city, a blind man, Bartimaeus (which means “son of Timaeus”),
was sitting by the roadside begging. When he heard that it was
Jesus of Nazareth, he began to shout, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” Many
rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, “Son of
David, have mercy on me!” Jesus stopped and said, “Call him.”
So they called to the blind man, “Cheer up! On your feet! He’s calling
you.” Throwing his cloak aside, he jumped to his feet and came
to Jesus. “What do you want me to do for you?” Jesus asked him.
The blind man said, “Rabbi, I want to see.” “Go,” said Jesus, “your faith has healed you.” Immediately he received his sight
and followed Jesus along the road. Mark 10:46-52
As he
was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy met him. They
stood at a distance and called out in a loud voice, “Jesus,
Master, have pity on us!” When he saw them, he said, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were
cleansed. One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back,
praising God in a loud voice. He threw himself at Jesus’ feet
and thanked him—and he was a Samaritan.
Jesus
asked, “Were
not all ten cleansed?
Where are the other nine? Has no one returned to give praise to
God except this foreigner?” Then he said to him, “Rise and go; your faith has made you well.” Luke 17:12-19
So
the churches were strengthened in the faith and grew daily in numbers. Acts 16:5
For
we also have had the good news proclaimed to us, just as they did; but the
message they heard was of no value to them, because they did not share the
faith of those who obeyed. Hebrews 4:2
Fixing
our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before
him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of
the throne of God. Hebrews 12:2
For
everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome
the world, even our faith. 1 John 5:4
